UYSF Anti-Doping Rules & Regulations

The Universal Yoga Sports Federation (UYSF) is fully committed to promoting fair play, athlete health, and the true spirit of yoga and sportsmanship. The use of prohibited substances or methods to enhance performance is strictly forbidden.

UYSF follows international standards aligned with the World Anti-Doping Code (WADA).

Zero-Tolerance Policy

UYSF has a strict zero-tolerance policy against:

  • Performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs)

  • Hormones and anabolic agents

  • Stimulants, narcotics, or masking agents

  • Blood doping or gene doping

  • Any substance listed on the WADA Prohibited List

Testing & Controls

UYSF reserves the right to conduct:

  • In-competition testing

  • Out-of-competition testing

  • Random drug testing

Testing may include:

  • Urine samples

  • Blood samples

Refusal to provide a sample is treated as a positive doping violation.

Penalties

Depending on the severity:

  • Immediate disqualification

  • Loss of medals, titles & prizes

  • Suspension or lifetime ban from UYSF events

  • Public announcement of violation

Education & Awareness

UYSF actively promotes:

  • Clean sport education

  • Natural performance through Yoga, Ayurveda & holistic training

  • Athlete awareness programs

Athlete Responsibility

Every UYSF athlete is personally responsible for anything found in their body.
Claiming ignorance of a substance is not accepted as a defense.

Athletes must:

  • Check all supplements and medicines before use

  • Avoid unverified herbal or energy products

  • Declare any medical treatment when required

Violations

The following are considered violations:

  • Presence of a prohibited substance

  • Use or attempted use of banned substances

  • Refusal to submit to testing

  • Tampering with samples

  • Trafficking or possession of banned drugs

Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE)

Athletes using medication for medical reasons must apply for TUE approval before competition. Without approval, even prescribed medicines can lead to disqualification.
